EjaNova® – The Surgical Treatment of Premature Ejaculation
Premature ejaculation (ejaculatio praecox) affects every third to fourth man — and is one of the most common sexual dysfunctions of all. For men whose cause lies in an excessive sensitivity of the glans and for whom other treatments have not produced lasting success, the EjaNova® surgery offers a surgical solution with sustainable effect.
EjaNova® is a microsurgical method (EJANOVA(R) — Selective Dorsal Neurectomy) in which the fine nerve branches supplying the tip of the glans are selectively and precisely severed. Few clinics in Germany offer this procedure — in the USA and Asian countries it is already widespread. Dr. Spanholtz and his team at the Androklinik® perform the EjaNova® surgery at the private clinic.

EjaNova® at a Glance
-
Method:Microsurgical EJANOVA(R) — Selective Dorsal Neurectomy
-
Objective:Selective reduction of the nerve sensitivity of the glans
-
Access:Via circumcision incision — circumcision possible simultaneously and recommended from our perspective
-
Anesthesia:Short anesthesia
-
Downtime:Usually 5 days — after that return to all activities
-
Result:Scientifically proven: EjaNova® can improve ejaculatio praecox
-
Pain:Low — mild painkillers are sufficient
-
Combination:Frequently simultaneous with glans enlargement (hyaluronic acid or autologous fat)
-
Costs:Approx. 4,800 EUR plus anesthesia costs (self-pay service)
-
Suitable for:Men with ejaculatio praecox due to glans hypersensitivity, when other therapies fail
EjaNova® is the brand name for the SRDN procedure (Selective Dorsal Neurectomy) at the Androklinik® of the Praxisklinik am Rosengarten®. In the EJANOVA(R) surgery, the fine nerve branches supplying the tip of the penis are exposed via a circumcision access. Selected of these nerve branches are selectively severed — not all of them, but specifically those responsible for the excessive sensitivity.
The result: The glans remains capable of sensation, but the hypersensitivity that leads to uncontrolled premature ejaculation is permanently reduced. Control over the timing of the orgasm improves — without a complete loss of glans sensation.
-
Cause of PE:Excessive sensitivity of the glans → nerve stimulus too early → uncontrolled ejaculation
-
EjaNova® procedure:Selective severing of the overactive dorsal nerve branches of the glans
-
Result:Reduced, but preserved sensitivity · more control · longer sexual act
-
Irreversible:Yes — the severed nerves do not fully regenerate
- Pronounced ejaculatio praecox — ejaculation frequently within seconds to a few minutes
- The cause is primarily the hypersensitivity of the glans (and not exclusively of a psychological nature)
- Other therapies (medications, behavioral therapy, glans enlargement) have not been sufficient
- Desire for a permanent, sustainable solution without daily medication
- Willingness to be circumcised or already circumcised
Since this is a microsurgical operation on nerves that is irreversible, careful preliminary diagnostics and patient selection are decisive.
EjaNova® is NOT suitable if the ejaculatio praecox has exclusively psychological causes or if there is no pronounced glans hypersensitivity.
Dr. Spanholtz clarifies exactly during the diagnostics whether EjaNova® is the right option for you.

What science says:
Study evidence on EjaNova®
Scientific data prove that the time until ejaculation (IELT — Intravaginal Ejaculatory Latency Time) can be considerably prolonged by the method. Studies show a possible tripling of the IELT compared to the baseline value.

International Journal of Andrology. DOI: 10.1111/j.1365-2605.2012.01296.x
Key result: IELT rose from an average of 1.1 minutes to 3.8 minutes (+245%, p < 0.01).
The erectile function remained unaffected in all patients.

- EjaNova® structurally reduces the neuronal hypersensitivity of the glans
- The glans enlargement adds additional volume — the increased tissue mechanically dampens stimuli and further reduces sensitivity
- Both procedures can be performed in one anesthesia, in one healing phase, in one appointment
