Honest assessment: What glans enlargement can achieve — and what it cannot

In principle, the glans can be thickened less intensively than the penile shaft. This is due to the strongly perfused structure of the tissue: the more intensive the blood flow, the faster the introduced hyaluronic acid is broken down by the body.

The functional effect: glans enlargement for premature ejaculation

Another reason for a glans enlargement can be constant or occasional suffering from premature ejaculation (ejaculatio praecox) — a disorder that affects 20–40% of all men across all age groups.

Due to the introduced hyaluronic acid volume, the sensitivity of the glans is slightly dampened. This delays orgasm — patients regularly report a noticeable improvement in ejaculation control. Procedure of the glans enlargement

The procedure is outpatient, under local anaesthesia and completed in about 30–45 minutes:

Consultation & planning

In the initial consultation — via video or at the clinic — Dr. Spanholtz discusses your starting situation, your wishes and expectations. He explains what the treatment can achieve and individually plans the amount to be introduced. The glans enlargement can be performed in the same session as an AlphaFill® shaft thickening.

Local anaesthesia

The area is first locally anaesthetised — the anaesthesia takes effect within a few minutes. After that, the treatment is virtually painless.

The injection: two small punctures

Two small punctures are made on the sides of the glans. Through these access points, the hyaluronic acid is introduced evenly into the tissue using the Drop-Injection technique. There are no incisions, no sutures, no visible scars.

Aftercare

You can leave the clinic immediately after the treatment. Physical rest is recommended for the first 24–48 hours. Sexual activity is usually possible again after about 7 days. Slight swelling or redness in the first few days is normal and subsides quickly.

Is glans enlargement painful?
No — thanks to local anaesthesia, the procedure is virtually painless. The anaesthesia itself is briefly noticeable; after that, only a slight pressure during the injection is perceptible. After the treatment, sensitivity and slight swelling may persist for a few days.
How long does the result last?
Due to the strong blood flow of the glans, the hyaluronic acid lasts a shorter time there than on the penile shaft — usually approx. 6–12 months. The more intensive the individual blood flow, the faster the breakdown. A refresh is easily possible and is usually recommended after about 6 months.
Can I have glans enlargement and shaft thickening done in one session?
