The Principle: Why Stem Cells from Your Own Blood Can Improve Erections

Blood contains far more than just red blood cells and nutrients. Stem cells, growth factors, and regenerative enzymes circulate within it, waiting for their deployment in the body. With the P-Shot® and P-Shot Pro®, these active substances are concentrated from a small blood sample and injected directly into the area of the erectile tissue.

There they unfold their regenerative effect: They stimulate the formation of new blood vessels (neovascularization), which can supply the erectile tissue with blood more effectively. The result is an improvement in erection hardness, quality, and duration — through a biological pathway, without foreign material, without systemic medication.

You may also know the use of the substance referred to as "PRP" from orthopedics or other medical specialties, where this form of treatment has taken on a growing role in regenerative medicine in recent years.

The Difference: P-Shot® vs. P-Shot Pro®

Both treatments are based on the same fundamental principle — the body's own material is concentrated and injected into the erectile tissue. The decisive difference lies in the active substance used:

P-Shot®: PRP — Platelet Rich Plasma

With the P-Shot®, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is obtained from the taken blood sample through centrifugation. PRP contains a high concentration of growth factors that are injected into the erectile tissue and stimulate vessel formation there. The procedure has been established in medicine for years — originally in orthopedics and sports medicine, and used by Dr. Spanholtz as one of the first physicians in Germany in andrology as well.

P-Shot Pro®: Exokine derived Serum

The P-Shot Pro® is an innovation by Dr. Spanholtz: Instead of PRP, the further processed EdS (Exokine derived Serum) is used. EdS contains a multiple of the regeneration factors of normal PRP, is cell-free, and acts both anti-inflammatory and strongly regenerative.

The Exokine procedure has been successfully used since 1998 for joint complaints, nerve pain of the spine, as well as muscle and tendon injuries
The application for erectile dysfunction is a completely new approach — developed and established by Dr. Spanholtz and the team of the Andrology Clinic
Already a few weeks after the application, an increase in collagen and stem cells can be detected in the treated tissue area
The effects are significantly stronger than with the normal P-Shot®

The P-Shot Pro® with EdS is an innovation of the Praxisklinik am Rosengarten — the clinical results are solid. As a completely new approach in andrology, there are as yet no randomized controlled studies specifically for this application.

What the Treatment Can Achieve

The effects of the P-Shot® treatment are individual and can vary in extent from patient to patient.
The following improvements are observed:

Frequently Asked Questions about P-Shot® and P-Shot Pro®

Is the P-Shot® painful?

No — the penis is treated with an anesthetic cream before the injection. As soon as the numbness is noticeable, the actual injection is nearly painless. The blood collection from the arm vein is comparable to a brief prick.

When will I feel the first effects?

First improvements are reported by some patients already after the second injection. Since it is a natural regeneration process, the vessel formation needs time. The full result shows approx. 3 months after the last (third) injection — that is, in total after approx. 6 months.

How long does the effect last?

The effect lasts several months. Since neovascularization is a biological process, the intensity may diminish over time. A repetition of the treatment series is easily possible and is recommended when the effect diminishes.

Is there any downtime after the injection?

No — the normal daily routine can be resumed immediately after the treatment. Sexual abstinence is not required. This is a significant advantage over surgical procedures.

For whom is the P-Shot Pro® more suitable?

The P-Shot Pro® with EdS is particularly recommended for more pronounced erectile dysfunction, when the standard P-Shot® has already been applied and a more intensive result is desired, or when the anti-inflammatory effect of EdS is additionally therapeutically relevant. Dr. Spanholtz provides an individual recommendation based on your medical history.
